After studying AMC Theaters over
the course of the class, we as a team can conclude that the company has an
efficient and effective hiring system. As stated in the blog, the hiring
process makes it simple and easy for both the hiring manager and the applicants
when applying for a position. The information system organizes applicants as a
priority level, then a hiring manger easily combs through applications and move
on with the next step of the hiring process.
During
our interview with Mr. Yanni, he told us many interesting facts about the
company which was a great help in a successful completion of the project. He informed us
about the changes of switching from the Workbrain system to the new Hot Schedules
system. Both allow self- service for employees to manage important information
when not at work. Hot Schedules is more user friendly and can do much more than
the Workbrain system.
AMC
Theaters continues to be a thriving company that offers many great amenities as
compared to other movie theaters around the country. Dine-in options and child
friendly screenings offer many choices for enjoying a day or evening at the
movies.
Overall, we are aware of the significance of Information Systems within an organization and how having a strong MIS can lead to success. Adopting the most efficient and effective Management Information System is the key to successfully implementing the desired competitive business strategy. It is pivotal to utilize "user-friendly" hardware and software, which employees (people) can easily learn to operate, in order to cut down unnecessary procedures and fully concentrate on those that are of essential importance to manage and execute organizational goals accordingly to the plan.
